Choosing a holster for your Glock 43X

The 43X was made to be carried concealed. Plenty of our customers carry it on duty too: for the 43X, our Level III duty holster is ordered as often as our top concealed holster.

So start with where the pistol spends the day. Under a shirt, or on a belt in uniform.

Under a shirt

The Model 38 Kydex Holster is molded Kydex that stays open after the draw, with a clip you move to set the angle and the height. The same holster with a slide protector adds a layer against wear and moisture on the slide. For something simpler, the Open Top New Generation Holster: open top, metal clip.

On a belt, in uniform

The Kydex HDL™ Level III High Ride Holster keeps the pistol locked until you decide otherwise. One thumb motion lifts the hood and presses the release, and two screws set how tight it holds. Want it lower? The Kydex HDL™ Level III Low Ride Holster sits on a low-ride plate with a thigh strap.

Level III is built for open carry, duty and uniform. For everyday concealed carry, most people need less. Which level is right for you is a conversation with your instructor.

Concealed carry (IWB)

For everyday carry inside the waistband: Model 38 Kydex Holster, GOVT. ISSUED Leather Holster, Open Top New Generation Holster, Standard Thumb-Break Leather Holster and Model 38 Kydex Holster with Slide Protector. The Model 38 Kydex has a polymer clip you adjust for draw angle and ride height.

Open carry and range (OWB)

Belt holsters for a fast, clean draw, including Service Holster, NG Compact Holster, Open Top KNG Holster, Open Top LKC Holster and Open Top Kydex Holster.

Duty and retention

Level II holsters add an active lock: a thumb break with RetenScrews. Level III is the HDL™ Head Lock: a natural dual-thumb motion lifts the head cover and releases the lock, with two adjustable retention screws. Available high ride, low ride and drop leg.

Shoulder, ankle and drop leg

Also for the Glock 43X: shoulder holsters (Thumb-Break Shoulder Holster, Leather Hinge Model Shoulder Holster and Leather Thumb-Break 5-Way Shoulder Holster), ankle holsters (Elastic Ankle Holster, Thumb-Break Ankle Holster and Safety Strap Ankle Holster) and a drop-leg holster with a magazine pouch.

Frequently asked questions

Do you make a Level III duty holster for the Glock 43X?

Yes. The HDL™ Level III comes for the 43X in Kydex and in KNG, high ride and low ride. We also make Level II thumb-break holsters for it.

Does a Glock 43 holster fit the Glock 43X?

No. The 43 and the 43X each have their own holster fit. Choose 43X on the product page and the holster is made for it.

What does the slide protector on the Model 38 do?

It adds a layer between the holster and the slide that helps prevent wear and moisture buildup. Otherwise it is the same Model 38 Kydex.

How do I make sure the holster fits my Glock 43X?

Choose Glock under Gun Brand and 43X 3.41" under Gun Model on the product page. The holster is made for the model you select, and your selection is recorded with your order.

Can I get a Glock 43X holster for a red-dot optic?

Optic-ready configurations are available on request. Contact us to confirm your setup before you order, because a holster ordered for the wrong configuration is not eligible for return.

Do you make left-handed Glock 43X holsters?

Yes. Where a holster is offered in both hands, choose Left under Draw Hand on the product page.

What belt width do I need?

The BFL belt loop on our duty holsters takes belts of 1.2", 1.5" and 2" (30, 38 and 50 mm). Paddle and clip versions fit belts up to 1.75" (45 mm).

Which retention level should I choose?

Level I is the simplest and the fastest. Level II adds one lock: a thumb break. Level III, the HDL™, is built for open carry, duty and uniform: the pistol stays locked until you release it. Which level is right for you is a conversation with your instructor.
